Telangana was hit with an earthquake of 5.3 magnitude; Hyderabad too felt the tremors.

Summary: The National Center for Seismology reported that a 5.3-magnitude earthquake struck Mulugu, Telangana.

The National Center for Seismology reports that a 5.3-magnitude earthquake rocked Telangana's Mulugu district Wednesday morning, sending shockwaves into Hyderabad and beyond Andhra Pradesh. The residents were in a panic when this occurred at 7:27 a.m.

The earthquake is an unusual occurrence in Telangana because the state rarely sees earthquakes. Mild tremors were observed in several areas of Hyderabad, including Yusufguda, Rahmat Nagar, Karmika Nagar, and Borabanda.

The surrounding villages, Vijayawada and Jaggayapet, all experienced earthquakes. Tadithota and Morampudi in Rajahmundry experienced slight tremors. The villages of Koonavaram, VR Puram, and Etapaka Mandals in the Chintoor division also experienced the tremors.

The Nujiveed and Dwarakathirumala areas experienced tremors that caused objects to fall off shelves in some homes. Prathipadu in the Kakinada district and other parts of the Mylavaram constituency, including Reddygudem, Nandigama, and Kanchikacharla mandals, were struck by minor earthquakes.

No reports of casualties or deaths. Experts have asked the locals to stay alert and away from crowded or unsafe buildings during earthquakes while the authorities are evaluating the situation.

Maharashtra also felt the tremors in Nagpur, Gadchiroli, and Chandrapur districts, which are closer to Telangana.
