The upcoming GPT-4.5, internally dubbed "Orion," will be OpenAI's final model without chain-of-thought reasoning capabilities. Chain-of-thought reasoning enables AI to digest information in a step-by-step fashion, hence improving its ability to perform complicated tasks. The AI abilities will be enhanced once advanced reasoning technique is incorporated in GPT-5.
OpenAI will provide Plus and Pro users with higher intelligence tiers along with the free standard intelligence. Additional features including voice interaction, canvas integration, search functionality, and deep research tools will be available at these higher tiers.
Customers with different needs can obtain the level of AI sophistication that best meets their needs thanks to this graded approach.
Altman said that the GPT-4.5 and GPT-5 models can be available in the upcoming weeks or months, The specific release dates have not yet been disclosed. This project reflects OpenAI's commitment to democratizing access to and usability of powerful AI.
