YouTube Finally Implements Real-time Lyrics Feature on its App

YouTube adds a feature of real-time lyrics just like Spotify, know more about the function, and other user-oriented tabs here, and other recently added credits.

The Google-owned corporation is putting all its efforts to add a variety of new features to the YouTube app in order to make it more competitive. Real-time lyrics, one of these capabilities, is already accessible on a number of third-party apps, but YouTube Music is just now integrating it. Because it allows users to hear several YouTube versions of songs, YouTube Music has a vast catalog of music. It has been criticized, nevertheless, for being behind in terms of features.

By displaying the words of the song on the screen and underlining each line as it is sung, real-time lyrics enable users to sing along to their favorite songs. According to 9to5Google, this capability is currently rolling out to both Android and iPhone users. It is important to note that the lyrics tab in the Android version does not for now feature any visual effects. On iPhones, however, the lyrics page has a backdrop blur effect, making it a more visually appealing experience.

The real-time lyrics function has already been turned on for many Reddit users' smartphones, according to screenshots they have provided. Song and album credits are now displayed on the YouTube Music app thanks to a recent update. Users of this feature can see the credits for every song and album they currently listen to.

A new function that allows users to automatically download recently played songs was only announced by YouTube Music a few days previously. Currently, Android supports this feature, which is turned on by default. There is no specific playlist for songs played recently on the Library tab. However, users can use this feature to automatically download up to 200 latest songs played.

The function was initially unveiled in mid-January and was highlighted as one of YouTube Music's February 2023 New Features Highlights. But it was not until last month that it was readily accessible to Android users. As for the time being, YouTube Music on iOS does not support this feature.
